An independent investigative commission ruled that the launch vehicle must also undergo two tests on the ground before the next launch into space can be planned for the fourth quarter of 2024.
The first commercial flight of the new European launch vehicle Vega-C failed in December. The launch vehicle, loaded with two Airbus Earth observation satellites, deviated from its planned orbit just minutes after taking off from the European spaceport at Kourou in French Guiana, after which data transmission stopped.
Space company Arianespace announced that the mission ended in failure. The French space agency CNES ordered the launch vehicle to be destroyed. Two satellites disappeared.
Ariane 6 also has delays. Due to an irregularity, the test scheduled for October 3 was postponed. The launch date of Ariane 6 will be announced only when this test is successful. (SDA)
