Do you know what Electricity 4.0 is?

In Central America, and especially in Panama, there is a promising future in energy sustainability. According to the operating body of the Regional Electricity Market, renewable energy is predicted to cover 79% of demand in the region in 2023.

Panama has launched an Energy Transition Agenda to reduce fossil fuels and combat climate change.

The National Energy Plan 2015-2050 (PEN) aims to reach 70% of renewable energy in the energy matrix of the earth.

The law was passed last year Electric mobilityenhancing commitment decarbonization.

This one regional focus and according to the national clean energy supports implementation Electricity 4.0. But what is it about?

Electricity 4.0 represents a evolution fundamental in the way we perceive and use energy.

In essence, smart energy combines advances in electrification and digitalization to create cleaner, more efficient and more integrated solutions in our cities and in industry.’

The construction and operation of buildings is responsible for 38% of global CO2 emissions, while the industrial sector contributes another 30%.

This technological revolution not only promotes greater efficiency in production and Energy distributionbut it also allows for greater control and real-time monitoring.

Sustainable electrification refers to the production of clean energy and the promotion of responsible consumption.

On the other hand, digitization of energy through sensors and advanced systems provides key data that helps cities and according to companies make more informed management and monitoring decisions, reducing energy waste.

“We are a generation facing one of the greatest challenges in history humanitywhich is climate changes“, he says, by the way e-mail María José Bazo, Vice President of Schneider Electric Central America.

He adds: “It is a responsibility that we do not ask for, but we must do it in order to leave the planet to the next generations, to our children. Climate change must be controlled and there are technologies that can achieve this.”

During his participation in V Ibero-American Energy CongressMaría José Bazo, representing Schneider Electric, gave a presentation on Electricity 4.0 and its role in energy sustainability, highlighting the company’s commitment to smart energy and its importance in transforming the energy sector in Central America.

Some of the options for real-time energy management and process optimization with greater precision are: electrificationreal-time metering and efficient energy distribution through IoT, artificial intelligence, automation and mutual connection devices and systems.

Intelligence is achieved through connection and software which interprets the data, facilitating the decarbonisation of buildings, industries and entire cities.
