The film may have already been forgotten by some, but in 2020, Robert Rodriguez (“From Dusk Till Dawn”) delivered “We Can Be Heroes,” one of the most successful Netflix films of all time to date. With more than 137 million views, the fantasy adventure is in 6th place in the Netflix top 10. A sequel was given the green light in 2021 – but after that the project became strangely quiet.

Now, director Robert Rodriguez has spoken out and talked about “We Can Be Heroes 2.” The loose sequel to “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl” is not yet off the table at Netlix. That would be more than strange after the first part was such a big hit for the streaming service with the big red N. Opposite Rodriguez said this about the sequel:

“The biggest rush is to make a sequel because the kids are growing up. Although the script has always taken that into account, they should be on a higher level, so to speak.
