Marc Webb is in demand right now: the filmmaker just finished filming the Disney remake of ‘Snow White’ starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, but the director doesn’t seem to be taking a break. He will now direct a film about one of the world’s greatest mysteries for film production company Skydance: Where simply “BermudaThe comic strip is about the Bermuda Triangle – also called the Devil’s Triangle – which is feared by sailors and in which ships and planes repeatedly disappear inexplicably.
The project has been in development at the production studio for years, but is now being rebooted with Webb as a big-budget adventure film. There are currently no concrete plans for the cast – and there is no script yet. This will be addressed by writers and actors after the end of the current strike and developed in collaboration with Marc Webb. In terms of content, ‘Bermuda’ is about uncovering the secrets of the feared maritime area in the Atlantic Ocean.
“Bermuda”: What takes a long time is finally good?
The blockbuster has been in development at Skydance for quite some time. Initially, the production, now intended as an action-packed adventure, seemed to be heading in a decidedly darker direction. Meanwhile, horror legend Sam Raimi (“Dance of the Devils”) and “Sinister” director Scott Derrickson, who were certainly thinking more in the mysterious direction, were slated for the project. Derrickson is set to direct the film in 2020, starring Captain America actor Chris Evans.
It is currently unclear when “Bermuda” will hit theaters. Since there is not even a script yet, we can hardly imagine that we will be able to admire the adventure film about the legendary Bermuda Triangle in cinemas before 2026.
