“What do I have to fight? Arthritis?” Sylvester Stallone is done with Rambo – and yet a new movie with him is coming out

During an appearance at the Toronto Film Festival, Sylvester Stallone was asked about the future of his cult character John Rambo. While the studio is likely interested in “Rambo 6,” the case is over for him.

“It’s almost done, although they want to do another one. But what else do I have to fight against? Arthritis?”the actor said loudly a sixth part starring him was rejected. But even though he’s done with Rambo, there’s another movie to come.

Passing the baton instead of “Rambo 6” or the Vietnam prequel

Stallone has said in the past that there are plans for a movie starring a young Rambo, but the Hollywood studio is in charge and he has different views on what should be told. Now he reaffirmed that the producers will prevail and there will be a passing of the baton in the present rather than a prequel in the past.

His plan was to film a prequel set in the Vietnam War, in which you would see “why an open-minded man, a football captain, becomes Rambo.” But the studio has other plans: “They want to do a story in the present where I pass the torch.” The project is getting closer to completion and he assumes that this will happen.

Although he is done with the character, he will play John Rambo one more time and then hand the successor over to a young actor. He will then – with appropriate success and fan acceptance – continue the franchise.

This Is Why Stallone Regrets ‘The City Cobra’

Like in a video of featured at Stallone’s appearance at the Toronto Film Festival, Stallone also spoke with regret about one of his old films. The city cobrafeels ‘half-baked’: ‘It feels like something I should have directed and I didn’t do that. I regret that.”

We will soon see Sylvester Stallone again in the cinema. In “The Expendables 4” from September 21, 2023, he will once again take on the role of mercenary boss Barney Ross. This is also about passing the baton. Because Stallone probably plays a slightly smaller role. The focus is on Jason Statham as Lee Christmas and a new generation of mercenaries.
