‘Frasier’ is not only one of the most successful, but also one of the best sitcoms of all time and can therefore regularly be found in various best lists – including in the FILMSTARTS ranking of the best sitcoms. In addition, the series that aired between 1993 and 2004 was about radio presenter and psychologist Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) won a total of 37 Primetime Emmys, which was a record at the time.
A reboot was announced in 2018, but over the years it became one of the more popular revivals of recent times, being a belated sequel. Almost exactly 19 years after the 11th final and so far last season that says “Frasier” revival now in the starting blocks: the first two episodes will premiere on October 13, 2023 on Paramount+. The remaining new episodes will then appear weekly on the streaming service. A total of ten episodes were filmed.

This cult sitcom stars the character Dr. Frasier Crane makes her first appearance, so “Frasier” is a spinoff that also features numerous other “Cheers” characters.
Speaking of appearances, Kelsey Grammer isn’t the only returnee from the original series, although it seemed that way for a long time. In early 2023, it was announced that Bebe Neuwirth (as Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith Sternin) and Peri Gilpin (as Frasier’s colleague and friend Roz) would appear at least in small roles. It remains to be seen if there will be one or two cameos or guest appearances.
Other main characters include Frasier’s old college friend Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst), who is now a university professor, Olivia (Toks Olagundoye), the head of the university’s psychology department, Frasier’s son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) and his cousin David (Anders Keith ), both of whom were part of the original series, as well as Freddy’s roommate Eve (Jess Salgueiro). In the new episodes, Frasier ends up in Boston, his hometown.
Chris Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Joe Cristalli (“Life In Pieces”) are responsible for the revival. Kelsey Grammer is also involved as a producer.
