The upcoming season of ‘Sex Education’ will be its last. The adventures of Otis, Eric, Maeve and Jean will come to an end later this month. Here’s everything you need to know about the final season of “Sex Education.”

What happened again at the end of the third season? After Otis and Maeve finally confess their feelings for each other, Maeve goes to study abroad in America. Eric broke up with Adam because they are at different points in life, and Amy also breaks up with her boyfriend. Otis’ mother Jean has another baby.

There is a time jump of several months between the third and fourth seasons. Maeve now lives in the US, where she is enrolled in a writing program at a renowned university.

The remainder of the Moordale High students will be transferred to Cavendish Sixth Form College. On the first day, Eric is nervous because he no longer wants to be one of the losers and Otis immediately gets to work setting up a new advice center. But Cavendish is a culture shock for all Moordale students: daily yoga in the community garden, a strong sense of sustainability and a group of students who are popular because they are nice.

Although Viv is completely comfortable with the non-competitive approach of college, Adam finds it difficult to cope at a mainstream school. Jackson is still trying to get over Cal and Aimee wants to reinvent herself through art.

Netflix provided insight into the plot on Instagram by sharing the descriptions of the individual episodes – although some parts were blacked out so as not to reveal too much.

Most of the actors that fans already know – and love – will also appear in the new season. Also Ncuti Gatwa, who was cast as the new Doctor Who and will soon be seen as this. The recordings for both series could be reconciled.

The following actors have been confirmed for the fourth season:

Some cast members left the show after the third season. Patricia Allison, who plays Ola, will not return for the series’ fourth season, citing scheduling conflicts. Ola emerged as a central character thanks to her pansexuality and friend-to-lover relationship with Lily (played by Tanya Reynolds).

Following Allison’s announcement, Reynolds also revealed that her character will also no longer appear in the new season. She says, “When you have such a large cast and so many characters, I think you have to let some of the older characters go to make room for newer ones, which is absolutely right.”

Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley, who had a recurring role as Olivia, will also be leaving the series. The fourth confirmed actress to leave the series is Rakhee Thakrar, who played supporting teacher Emily Sands. She responded to her departure as follows: “I am not part of the new series. I can’t really say why.”

Dan Levy is new. The protagonist of ‘Schitt’s Creek’ plays Maeve’s teacher and cult author Thomas Molloy at Wallace University in ‘Sex Education’. Another newcomer is Lisa McGrillis, who will play Jean’s younger sister Joanna.

Otis gets a new rival at the new school named O, played by Thaddea Graham. Other new actors include Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa and Alexandra James. They form the clique at the new school called The Coven.

In February 2023, actress Jodie Turner-Smith announced that she would also appear in the fourth season, when Gatwa called her directly and asked if she wanted to participate. It is not yet clear what her role is. However, she revealed that she shot all her scenes with Gatwa.

The fourth season consists of eight episodes and will be released on Netflix on September 21. All episodes will be released simultaneously and not split into two parts, as Netflix has been doing for a while.

Netflix released the official trailer for the final season this week.
