Prequel to a Stephen King Masterpiece: Trailer for “Stuffed Animal Graveyard: Bloodlines”

The pet cemetery and a mystical cemetery beyond it in the small town of Ludlow is one of the most legendary Stephen King locations. The classic novel “Cemetery of the Cuddly Toys” is one of the greatest masterpieces of horror legend. However, none of the film adaptations were entirely enthusiastic – neither Mary Lambert’s 1989 ‘Cemetery of the Cuddly Toys’ nor Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer’s new version ‘Cemetery of the Cuddly Toys’, which hit theaters in 2019.

The latest film adaptation therefore takes a completely different path: Graveyard for Stuffed Animals: Bloodlines‘ is a prequel. The character of Jud Crandall, who appears in King’s novel as an old, wise neighbor, is still a young man in the prequel story set in 1969 (played by Jackson White of “Tell Me Lies”).

Like all his peers, he dreams of finally leaving his sleepy hometown of Ludlow behind. But first he must battle an ancient evil force that has had a gruesome grip on Ludlow since the city’s founding.

“Stuffed Animal Graveyard: Bloodlines”: Coming soon to Paramount+

The trailer already tells us that Jud’s buddy Timmy (Jack Mulhern) is coming back from the dead – and anyone who knows “Cemetery of the Cuddly Toys” knows all too well that the exact person who died is not returning. It’s an evil version of Timmy that must be stopped. But it’s not just evil that stands between Jud and his friends. Even Timmy’s father (“X-Files” legend David Duchovny) can’t allow his son to die again.

Graveyard for Stuffed Animals: Bloodlines“was created exclusively for the streaming service Paramount+. You can stream the horror film there from October 7, 2023.

By the way, it was directed by Lindsey Beer, who has been one of Hollywood’s most popular screenwriters in recent years – even though there are hardly any published titles on her resume so far. However, she has already completed numerous assignments and her concepts and scripts are said to have made a big impression.

A “Star Trek” movie that might one day was written by her, as well as Disney’s “Bambi” remake, the (for now canceled) Marvel comic book adaptation “Silver Sable” and a “Hello Kitty” movie. She also has scripts and concepts for a ‘Fast & Furious’ spin-off, remakes of ‘Lord of the Flies’ and ‘Number 5 Lives!’ and the Netflix series “The Magic Order.” Although all this has not yet been realized, her directorial debut can now be seen soon.
