Beach, sun lounger, mountains, a trip or enjoying the peace and quiet of the city at home while the hustle and bustle at the airport goes wild? Where are you going this summer? Whatever it is, dealing with finances is probably more about enjoying life than a thorough study of papers, newspapers and documents. Don’t have to, but July in particular is great for a short financial pit stop, which you can do without much effort to make sure everything stays on track money-wise.

A whole series of exciting dates will appear in July:

Companies publish their semi-annual figures, which can be relevant for stocks before as well as after publication. For example, if you want to invest or speculate in the short term with an amount that suits your situation, this is an exciting time. If you already own shares in one or more companies, this is your chance to receive up-to-date information about the state of affairs, but also about possible adjustments to the strategy.

States publish a number of indicators of the economic situationfor example, the consumer price index, which measures the price development of goods and services consumed in a country on the basis of a representative basket of goods and services and is considered an important indicator for measuring inflation and changes in purchasing behaviour.

They will be back at the end of July rate decisions the US Central Bank FED (July 26) and the European Central Bank ECB (July 27). The Swiss National Bank SNB will publish Switzerland’s first quarter financial statements on July 27 and its interim report on July 31. You can, for example, look up such data in an economic calendar and in the media calendar of the SNB. You can use all this data to review your finances and investments and make any necessary adjustments.

The short summer check for your finances strongly depends on your personal situation, depending on which investments and financial products you have.

For those who prefer to take it easy, here are a few Financial books that are good to read on the beach in a lounger, by the pool or while traveling:
