In 2021, it was already announced that a prequel to “Stuffed Animal Cemetery” was in development. Stephen King’s horror classic has already been filmed twice and the 1989 version could also become a milestone in the genre. Now it has been announced that the prequel ‘Stuffed Animal Graveyard’, titled ‘Pet Seminary: Bloodlines‘ will be released on Paramount+ on October 6, 2023.
This year, the mysterious animal graveyard that can bring the dead back to life could really get Paramount+ subscribers into the Halloween spirit. In addition to the announcement of the start date, the first images of the horror prequel by director debutante Lindsey Beer have also appeared – and they look quite atmospheric:

This is the Pet Graveyard prequel
Anyone who has seen the Stephen King novel or any film adaptation of it knows that this is about the Creed family, who move to Ludlow, Maine, and come into contact with a legendary Native American burial ground. This ensures that not only deceased animals but also people return after death – albeit completely changed. Jud Crandall, the Creeds’ neighbor, repeatedly warns Father Louis not to visit the cemetery. Of course in vain.

“Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” centers on the young Jew Crandall (played here by Jackson White). He soon discovers that there is a dark secret hidden in the woods around his hometown. Jud also deals with his family’s dark past. As we learn in the novel and in the movies, Jud herself has had terrible experiences with the cemetery. And Wendingo, who roams the woods in the novel, could play a bigger role here too.
In addition to Jackson White (“Tell Me Lies”), Forrest Goodluck (“The Revenant”), Jack Mulhern (“Mare Of Easttown”), Henry Thomas (“Gangs Of New York”), Natalie Alyn Lind (“The Goldbergs”), Isabella LeBlanc (True Detetive), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and David Duchovny (Californication) join the cast of Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.
