One new album, multiple records: American pop star Taylor Swift now has more number one albums than any other artist in US chart history.
With the arrival of her new album “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” at number one on the album charts, Swift climbed to the top of the charts for the twelfth time, industry service Billboard announced Monday (local time). With that, the singer surpassed Barbra Streisand as the woman with the most number one albums.
Swift is also the first living artist in nearly 60 years to have four albums in the top 10 at once, according to Billboard. The 33-year-old would also be the first living artist to have 11 albums in the top 200 at once.
Speak Now was originally released in 2010. Swift has said she will re-record her first six albums to own the rights due to a dispute over the rights to her music. (saw/sda/afp)
