Unicorn, Mage War – and a dead Geralt? Trailer for “The Witcher” Season 3, Part 2 – longer and finally available to everyone!

Unicorn, Mage War – and a dead Geralt? Trailer for “The Witcher” Season 3, Part 2 – longer and finally available to everyone!

A trailer for the remaining three episodes was already hidden at the end of the first five episodes of “The Witcher” season 3. To watch the preview, all you had to do was watch episode 5 through the credits on Netflix. Now the streaming service has also made the trailer for season 3.2 available for free on the internet – and even presents a longer version of the well-known preview:

The trailer for Volume 2 or Issue II of “The Witcher” Season 3 promises a jam-packed, three-part season finale where things get really dramatic again: There is a war between mages and sorceresses in Aretuza, Ciri (Freya Allan) meets a unicorn and Geralt (Henry Cavill) fights an overwhelming opponent – and loses.

Warning, of course there are spoilers for “The Witcher” Season 3.2!

As becomes clear after the fifth episode of Season 3, Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu) is the big bad guy who has been pulling the strings in the background all along. The trailer not only promises a renewed confrontation with Vilgefortz’s henchman Rience (Sam Woolf), but also a direct fight between Geralt and Vilgefortz. Anyone who knows the book template knows that this does not end well for Geralt – this is also indicated in the trailer.

However, we can’t imagine that the duel would end any worse for Geralt than it says in the books, even though a scene in the trailer seems to suggest it: Geralt appears to be floating lifeless in the water. However, other scenes also show a badly battered Geralt in training – presumably here he is fighting back after his defeat.

We therefore do not assume that Henry Cavill will say goodbye to The Witcher after losing the duel with Vilgefortz because his Geralt dies and he is then replaced in season 4 by a Geralt from another dimension played by Luke Hemsworth. The fight against a group of soldiers shown several times in the trailer should rather be one of Cavill’s last scenes.

War of the Magi in Aretuza

However, it seems clear that in the remaining three episodes there will be a great battle in Aretuza, in which different factions of mages and sorceresses will clash, as will the Socai’tael elves around Francesca (Mecia Simson) and mysterious figures in the black. cloaks. And it’s apparently really spectacular to the point.

Meanwhile, Ciri finds herself in a desert where she encounters a unicorn and a ravenous sand monster – the start of her own adventure and preparation for The Witcher’s previously announced Season 4.

But first, we can look forward to “The Witcher” Season 3, Part 2. The three episodes will be released on Netflix on July 27, 2023.
