“They were long, hard and thin as old bones, their flesh pale as milk. Her armor seemed to change color with every movement; one moment it was white as freshly fallen snow, the next black as shadows or mottled with the dark gray-green of the trees.”
In the first part of his fantasy saga “A Song of Ice and Fire”, from which the HBO series “Game of Thronesemerged, the white walkers presented themselves – those mythical creatures so powerful they pose a threat even to dragons.
Whether the TV implementation has always met the worlds designed by Martin 100% can certainly be discussed based on the White Walkers. The fact is: bringing such complex material to the screen was certainly a tedious task, but for the most part it succeeded. “Game Of Thrones” lasted eight seasons and is one of the most successful series of all time.
Reddit user Marcus Smith still wanted to make sure – and gave an AI George RR Martin’s original descriptions of the White Walkers to find out just how well the series creators actually got a hold of the creatures! The result, well, takes some getting used to.
Here you can see for yourself if you like the AI version better:
I told AI to generate a White Walker as per the book description

Lucius Malfoy? Or Geralt or Rivia after a bad hair appointment?
The users are quite amused by the result: One is reminiscent of Lucius Malfoy from the “Harry Potter” movies, another sees “Hugh Laurie as an albino” in the extra humanized AI variant. Another Reddit user recognizes the artificially generated White Walker as Henry Cavill’s Geralt von Rivia from “The Witcher” – albeit “after a bad day at the barber”.
All in all, it can be said that the AI version cannot convince the majority of Game Of Thrones fans. So we just hope that it sticks to funny “what if?” games like this for as long as possible – and that AI doesn’t really take over the character and production design of big movies and series at some point.
