Super-Skrulls: The powers of “Secret Invasion” villain Gravik explained

Already in “Secret Invasion” Episode 2, observant Marvel fans could discover clear clues to this, now Marvel has taken the super cat out of the bag: The Skrulls around villain Gravik (Kingsley Ben Adir) planning to turn into Super-Skrulls – using the genetic material left on Earth by a variety of superheroes, villains and aliens. And not only that: as episode 3 shows, this transformation has (at least) already happened with Gravik!

Because when Gravik and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) meet in episode 3, Talos rams a knife into his opponent’s hand. Gravik then runs his hand through the blade – and it grows back together with a red glow. Just like “Iron Man 3” villain Aldrich Kilian (Guy Pearce) was able to regenerate an entire arm after it was severed. In plain language: Gravik already possesses the powers of Extremis technology from “ironman 3“.

The second trailer for “Secret Invasion” also featured a scene where Gravik grows his arm, which will surely remind many MCU fans of another famous Marvel character: Groot from the Guardians Of The Galaxy movies.

So it’s clear that Gravik has at least two different superpowers, given to him by the scientist couple Rosa (Katie Finneran) and Victor Dalton (Mark Bazeley). But that shouldn’t be all. Because it was suggested in episode 2 that he also gains the powers of a Frostbeast from Jotunheim from “Thor” and “Thor 2”, as well as Thanos henchman Cull Obsidian from “Avengers 3” and “Avengers 4”.

So Gravik is the first Super-Skrull and apparently has the superpowers of four different Marvel characters just like in the comics. Incidentally, the original Super-Skrull named Kl’rt in the comic book had Mr. Fantastic (ductility), Johnny Storm (firepower), Sue Storm (invisibility and force fields), and Ben Grimm (strength and resilience). of the Fantastic Four.

However, it’s entirely possible that more Super-Skrulls will be created in the coming installments. The process of improvement has now been successful with the Daltons, as episode 3 shows. Now it probably depends on whether the evil Skrulls can find more genetic material – or whether the existing DNA is enough for other Skrulls in addition to Gravik to gain the powers of Groot and Co. to give.
