First trailer for “The Witcher” season 3, part 2 released: here’s how episode 6 continues

Netflix has released the first trailer for the second half of “The Witcher” season 3 – but not yet available for free on YouTube, only as a bonus at the end of the fifth episode of season 3. To watch the season 3.2 trailer, all you have to do is watch episode 5 to the end. Shortly after the credits begin, you will be automatically redirected to the preview. On mobile devices, you may need to start the trailer yourself.

Incidentally, Netflix has taken a similar approach for season 2 of ‘The Witcher’ at the end of 2021. There, the first trailer of the spin-off “The Witcher: Blood Origin” was shown, as a kind of credits scene. A few days later, the preview was regularly published on the Internet – in this case it should be similar. So if you’d rather watch the trailer for “The Witcher” Season 3, Issue 2 on YouTube or here on FILMSTARTS, you’ll have to be patient.

But what do we actually see in the trailer? What can we expect in the remaining three episodes? We’ve already explained in detail in this article how things could continue in the second half of Season 3 – and the preview now confirms that. Warning, of course there are spoilers:

So in the trailer we see several scenes that the duel between Geralt (Henry Cavill) and the villain Vilgefortz revealed at the end of Episode 5 (Mahesh Jadu) indicated, but without showing Vilgefortz’s face. However, anyone familiar with the original book will recognize the quarter staff and the references to Geralt’s painful defeat.

After the duel, Vilgefortz should pretend to be Geralt, like in Episode 4, but get it Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Alan) apparently still have the option to say goodbye, before disappearing through a portal. That’s how it happens that we are in the trailer Only see Ciri in the middle of a desert – where she meets a unicorn (!). You can read more about this in this article:

They stay Scenes where Geralt fights against a group of soldiers. These scenes are probably furthest in chronological order, i.e. after Ciri’s escape, after the duel, and after Geralt’s recovery in Brokilon Forest. This scene is probably from the next “The Witcher” novel titled “Baptism of Fire”.

The Witcher Season 3 Issue II will premiere on Netflix on July 27, 2023.
