Noticed in “The Witcher” Season 3? This scene will serve as the intro to the next Netflix spin-off – and season 4!

In the third episode of the latest season “The Witcher” a character appears who will become very important for the fantasy universe in the future. Because we will meet her again later – in the spinoff”advice‘ which will be released between Season 3 and Season 4 of The Witcher, and then into Season 4 itself. And all this has to do with the fact that in the future Ciri will (for now) walk on solo paths…

Of course Ciri is not so solo, but she breaks away from her adoptive family consisting of Geralt (now: Henry Cavill, from season 4: Liam Hemsworth) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and joins another group: the gang of rats , which avid readers of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels should of course know. And they may have noticed how a member of the gang of rats made their debut at the beginning of Season 3 of The Witcher.

Ciri meets Mistle

In episode 3, titled “Reunion”, Ciri (Freya Allan) is at a market and gets curious about a showman who promises the audience a man-eating basilisk. Trained by Geralt to hunt monsters, Ciri soon realizes it’s a scam and there’s only a young wyvern in the cage. In the group of spectators, Ciri is addressed by a young woman – who later jumps to her aid when the wyvern escapes and attacks the humans, but also steals Ciri’s wallet in the process.

The young woman is none other than Mistle, played by Christel Elvinwho will still play an important role in Ciri’s life.

Mistle is a member of the rat gang who will later be joined by Ciri – a group of young criminals who roam the streets led by Giselher who will be introduced in phases throughout Season 3 before appearing in the spin-off with the working title “The Witcher: Rats is finally stepping into the spotlight.

This can currently be assumed The spin-off, which has already been completed and will be released as a miniseries or, rumored, maybe even as a feature film, will tell the origin story of the rat gang – so a prequel. As already confirmed, the “Rats” will also be part of Season 4 of “The Witcher:”. Then the joint adventures of Ciri and the gang of thieves will probably finally begin.

Mistle, at least in the book, originally comes from a wealthy family that had to flee their hometown of Thurn after a riot and fell into the clutches of ruthless traffickers. Left to die on the side of the road by her tormentors, she was rescued by a boy named Asse – they later formed the rat gang with other outcast youths.

Warning, possible spoilers for “Rats”: In the original book, Ciri (who calls herself Falka among the rats, by the way) and Mistle enter into a lesbian relationship. It is not yet known whether this storyline will also be adopted for the Netflix series.

By the way, “The Witcher: Rats” recently attracted attention with a particularly prominent casting: Dolph Lundgren joins The Witcher universe and plays a witch named Brehen from Cat School.

But first, let’s move on to Henry Cavill’s farewell appearance as Geralt of Rivia: The second part of third season of The Witcher will be released on Netflix on July 27, 2023. Then three more episodes await us, bringing season 3 to a total of eight episodes as usual. Episodes 7 and 8 introduce the other members of the rat gang.
