The posthumous album captures the essence of the artist

“There are brand new songs on the record,” he says, “that remain in my mom’s archive. When an artist leaves behind recorded music, it’s very easy to separate their essence, but I feel like we managed to capture the essence of my mom very well, not just in the voice and music, but in the whole concept of the record.”

As Jacqie Rivera told EFE, the concept of this disco is an honor his mother’s beginnings in the Sinaloan band.

The album starts shipping this Friday along with the video “A Little Part of Me”, a song written by Jenni Rivera that was “saved” and “finished” by her children for this album.

“Fans have known for years that this was it a song it already existed, but they didn’t know that my mom had recorded it, and I didn’t either,” admits Johnny. This song was written for him when he was 7 years old, he said.

“Being with you would make me so happy / you’re my angel, mine gift my life…” says a part of the text in which the mother’s feelings are revealed.

“We chose that song because my mom always said that she never thought about being in this place. Being an artist was not in her plans. The song was written for him (Johnny) and he chose that the three sisters could finish it with our mom,” he adds. Jacqie during the album promotion in Miami with her brothers Johnny and Jenick.

“It was my first time, I didn’t go to school to do this, it was more out of faith and love for our mom. There are a lot of moments in the video where you can feel that she participated, that he is very present in the harmonies,” pointed out Jacquie .

He points out the song “Ona koja nad na tvo poštaj” as “very solemn”, while Jenićka opts for “Pedacito de mí”.

In a statement, Chiquis Rivera, also Jenna’s daughter, emphasized that it was an “honor” for the children to help their mother who “sacrificed so much.” “We have finally been able to finish this project that his fans have been waiting for so patiently,” he added.

Strength Jenni Rivera, born in Long Beach, California (United States) in 1969 and who died in a plane crash in Mexico in 2012, can also be found on the album cover, according to her daughter Jacqie.

“On the cover, you can feel that stage presence more. We wanted to put a summary of her artistic career, the beginning and the end. I think it’s a very strong cover because she seems to be praying and you can feel it,” he said. .

“I feel my mom deserves the quality. I also think it’s better that (the album) is released near her birthday (July 2) than the day she left,” Johnny says.

“As children, it means completing a project. She sacrificed her whole life for it lead us forward and now we can complete this work for his fans. I also feel like we’ve healed a lot internally throughout the process,” Jacquie summed up.
