There is still time to enter the Maths Story Competition as entries close on 21 July.
With this competition, the Panama Foundation for the Promotion of Mathematics (FUNDAPROMAT) will encourage the art of narrative writing in favor of this science.
The competition for a mathematical story is intended for young people from 12 to 21 years of any nationality living in Panama or abroad.
What will be evaluated?
The competition jury will select the stories taking into account the following evaluation criteria:
– Mathematical value of the story: The story includes mathematical content in its narrative.
– Story organization: A story presents an introductory approach, the development of a problem or conflict, and a coherent outcome.
– Reader interest: Telling a story engages the reader and arouses his curiosity.
– Drafting: The story does not contain grammatical and spelling errors.
– Creativity: The participant cleverly unravels the math in the story.
– Originality: The story qualifies as new, unique, innovative and different from others.
