British model Naomi Campbell gave birth to her second child at the age of 53. “Welcome baby boy,” she wrote on Instagram on Thursday evening. “It’s never too late to become a mother.”
In May 2021, Campbell – then 50 – also announced on Instagram that she had become a mother. She later refuted rumors of a possible adoption. “She’s not adopted — she’s my child,” she told British Vogue, for whose cover she posed with her infant daughter.
Once the first black model to grace the cover of Vogue, Campbell continues to advocate for diversity in fashion. In the recent post, Campbell shares a photo of a baby being held by a woman; one hand of the baby is held by both the woman and another child’s hand. Campbell writes, “My little darling, know that you are greatly honored and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence. A true gift from God – blessed!”
At the Met’s annual benefit gala in New York in early May and the Cannes Film Festival a little later, the supermodel showed no signs of pregnancy in photos. (sda/dpa)
