Netflix will produce a documentary about Juan Gabriel

Netflix will produce a documentary about the legendary Juan Gabriel in Mexico and the United States after reaching a deal with Iván Aguilera, one of his sons and the executor of the Mexican singer-songwriter’s estate.

Aguilera said he was excited to collaborate with it platformwas published by the specialized magazine Deadline.

“Bringing my father’s true story to the screen has been a project we’ve wanted to start for a long time. We’re confident that with this team we’ve built, we can work closely to bring his true story to life.”

He will direct the documentary about El Divo de Juárez Maria Jose Cuevasknown in 2016 for her work on “Beauties of the Night,” according to Deadline.

In the meantime, Laura Woldenberg and Ivonne Gutierrez, producers of the Netflix documentary “The three deaths of Marisela Escobedo”, will be in charge of producing the film.

In 2020, Aguilera announced that with the support of a team specializing in handling celebrity legacywill launch several projects in “tribute” to the Mexican artist that include a documentary, film and other events that “celebrate his legacy.”
