The Alfredo De Saint Malo International Academic Music Festival (ASMF) started this Wednesday with activities on different stages in the city.
In this great cultural and artistic exchange, the goal is to bring together influence about 500 artistschildren, young people, national and international musicians, during 12 days of concerts at the Balboa Theater, the Anita Villalaz Theater, the National Library of Panama City and the National Library of Boquete.
Intensive tests will continue until July 2 orchestra, working closely with the music community local and public, also achieving exchanges for the professional development of our musicians and positively influencing the cultural tourism and economy of Panama, said Isaac Casal, artistic director of the festival.
International and national artists such as: Camerata Panama, directed by Víctor Mata; The National Symphony Orchestra, this time under the direction of Colombian conductor Cesar Leal.
The launch of the festival became the starting point for a holistic vision of a new educational and artistic platform for Panama and is one of the most important in Central America, benefiting the Philharmonic Program for Children and Youth in Panama and the foundation’s scholarship program, with the Ministry of Culture of Panama as the main sponsor.
Some concerts will be free and educational
american violinist, Eric Silberger, plays Tchaikovsky with director César Leal and the National Symphony Orchestra. The concert is free and will take place on June 28 at the Balboa Theatre. The National Symphony Orchestra, already traditionally, achieves this cooperation within the festival of the Ministry of Culture and the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá.
Two didactic concerts will be held on June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Anita Villalaz Theater and on June 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Balboa Theater with the goal that all children who wish to attend for free, will last an hour dedicated to interacting with them.
Woodwind, brass and saxophone ensembles
Intended for students and musicians from junior and advanced degree who want to integrate different ensembles (woodwinds, brass and saxophone) under the coordination of international maestros of the highest level and perform in concert during the festival.
