Gal Gadot and Netflix: This is a winning combination for the streaming service since “Red Notice” at the latest – after all, the action thriller starring Gadot, Dwayne Johnson, and Ryan Reynolds is the highest grossing (= most watched) Netflix movie of all time. Now the next Agent Activist with the “Wonder Woman” star is in the starting blocks: “Heart of stone‘ should be the starting gun for a franchise for female agents, the female counterpart of ‘James Bond’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’.
And Netflix paid handsomely for that after the $200 million “Red Notice”, because the streaming service “Heart Of Stone”, which only existed as a project at the time, secured early 2021 in a bidding war. Exact figures have not been handed down, but Gadot’s compensation alone is eight figures – at least ten million dollars.
An international cast
Other stars in the cast include Matthias Schweighöfer, who stays true to himself as Germany’s Netflix figurehead, and ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ star Jamie Dornan. Starring: Jing Lusi (“Man Vs. Bee”), Jon Kortabandena (“A Single Man”), Diana Yekinni (“Murder Island”), Sophie Okonedo (“Death on the Nile”) and Alia Bhatt (” RRR” )).
Directed by Tom Harper, who directs his biggest movie to date after several episodes of TV series and the hot air balloon adventure “The Aeronauts” for Amazon Prime Video. Greg Rucka (“The Old Guard”) and Allison Schroeder (“Christopher Robin”) wrote the screenplay for the round-the-world spy hunt.
This is “Heart of Stone”
Heart Of Stone revolves around top agent Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot). Along with her team – which includes Parker (Jamie Dornan) and Keya Dhawan (Alia Bhatt) – she is sent on important missions by the top secret organization called “The Charter”. The secret organization controls a powerful AI called “The Heart”, piloted by Matthias Schweighöfer’s character.
And apparently Rachel Stone ends up on a confrontational course with the heart — hence the Netflix actor’s title…
Heart Of Stone will be available to stream on Netflix from August 11, 2023.
