This is THE chance for a 4K TV upgrade: the LG OLED C2 is now available at Amazon at a 51 percent discount

4K TVs are a dime a dozen. LG’s models stand out from the confusing array thanks to strong display technology. One of the best LG TVs is the C2, which is now heavily discounted.

The C2 with 55 inches currently costs 1,111 euros on Amazon. These are full 51 percent savings compared to the RRP. According to Geizhals.de, the previous low price for the 4K TV is 1,088 euros. So Amazon’s current offer is really good and only 23 euros more expensive than the record price.

By comparison, the less well-equipped LG OLED CS9 (1,099 euros at Amazon*) is only twelve euros cheaper than the LG OLED C2 with 55 inches.

LG C2: super bright thanks to the OLED Evo display

He is on par with that Sony A95K and the Samsung S95B, last year’s top models from the two manufacturers. Even the LG flagship G2 won’t get a better grade.

The main differences between the C2 and its predecessor, the C1, are the OLED Evo display and faster processor. At LG, OLED Evo represents an extra layer in the panel, which consists of more luminous material that refines the wavelength of the light. In practice, this means an increase in peak brightness and color brilliance.

The fifth-generation Alpha 9 processor flexes its muscles, especially when upscaling Full HD and SD content to 4K. And in HDR mode too, the brain of the LG OLED C2 is impressive. Thanks to Dolby Vision IQ support, the 4K TV always adjusts the image to the lighting conditions of your home cinema. HDR content is also rendered in HDR10 and HLG codecs. You just have to do without HDR10 +.

LG OLED C2: Superb smart TV system

Thanks to OLED technology – every single pixel can be turned off – the C2 also generates extremely good black levels. Even the long night in “Game Of Thrones” becomes an experience. Sports and game fans will also get their money’s worth with the 120 Hz screen and the various game modes. Four HDMI 2.1 inputs provide enough connectivity for NextGen consoles.

That leaves the smart TV menu, which, as usual with LG, is very intuitive and quick to operate. This is ensured by the new operating system webOS 22, which can even be set individually and allows the creation of different profiles. Voice control via Alexa or Google is also possible. There are downsides to the sound, that’s ok, but can’t keep up with a soundbar or a 5.1 system.

LG OLED B2 as a cheap alternative to the C2

An alternative to the LG OLED C2 is the LG OLED B2, which currently costs 999 euros Media Markt* And Saturn* costs and is therefore another 112 euros cheaper. The B2 cannot keep up with the C2 in terms of brightness at the trial but still a 9.3 for image quality. If the light output is not so important to you because you prefer to watch movies and series in the evening, the B2 can be a cheap alternative to the C2.

In addition, the B2 has a slightly weaker processor and only offers two instead of four HDMI 2.1 inputs. The latter should only be important if you want to connect a gaming PC to your television in addition to a Playstation 5 and an Xbox Series X at the same time.
