No matter how uncomplicated Prime Video, Netflix and the other streaming services try to make film and series enjoyment: the appeal of haptic media continues to convince many fans. After all, you never know exactly how long your favorite movie or series will remain available at the trusted service. This lingering enthusiasm for DVDs and Blu-rays may also explain why discs are such a popular product category in major Amazon discount campaigns.
As part of the “Exclusive Prime Offers” prices are currently falling again: Today only (October 12, 2022, until 11:59 PM) Amazon Prime members are offering products in every category imaginable, some of which are heavily discounted – also on all types of DVDs and Blu-rays.
VDs, Blu-rays & Co*
If you want to use this savings promotion to cheaply dust off movies and series, you should keep an eye on a few subcategories. About Boxes & Limited Editions*because for Fall Prime Day, many complete editions of major film series are heavily discounted.
The same applies to TV series on DVD and Blu-ray*, which gives you an extra dose of entertainment for little money. And how anime*fans know that these titles tend to be more expensive than average, which is why it’s all the more worth stocking up on new purchases that have been tweaked before.
The 16-disc set with all eight “Harry Potter” parts on 4K disc is available as part of the “Prime Exclusive Offers” at a discount of more than 30 percent, therefore the previous price has been reduced from almost 95 euros to less than 65 euros. DVDs and Blu-rays are also cheaper. The discount on the “The Dark Knight” trilogy, which is now very cheaply available in the 4K set, is also impressive.

But fans of the “Batman” films by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher can also save a lot, because the 4K set with the four “original” Batmans has also been considerably reduced. Meanwhile, if you prefer dystopias to the gothic look of crime-ridden Gotham, you’ll find it in Hunger Games. And if it were to be a positive future, the three “Star Trek” films from the alternate timeline that were unveiled in 2009 are also available as a 4K set at a heavily discounted price.

Speaking of “alternate timeline”, the 4K set, consisting of the first four parts of the reboot of “James Bond” starring Daniel Craig, is currently on offer for less than 40 euros – less than a tenner per film! You can get even cheaper with the Blu-ray box with the first 24 Bond missions, which are currently available for only 65 euros:

The discount on the 5 movie collection that includes the entire “Jurassic Park” trilogy and the first two “Jurassic World” parts is almost monumental: the 4K set now costs after the third “Jurassic World” part has been released, under the 39 (!) euros. And to stay in the adventure genre, the “Mummy” trilogy with Brendan Fraser, currently celebrating a comeback, is available as part of the bargain for under $30, and the “Jumanji” trilogy for around $20. Everything in Ultra HD!

There are also box sets dedicated to filmmakers, such as anime maestro Hayao Miyazaki. The coveted Blu-ray Collection, which includes ten of his classics, including milestones like “Princess Mononoke” and “Spirited Away”, is currently about $40 cheaper than last time! Quite another anime highlight is the FSK 18 series “Elf Song”. The gory and sexually charged series complete set currently costs significantly less than usual.

Other anime highlights among the Prime offerings include the fully featured complete set of the influential cult series “Captain Future” and the Collector’s Limited Edition of the anime sci-fi masterpiece “Akira” in 4K.

Speaking of series: in addition to the fantasy epic “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, which is currently enjoying fan love again, and the FSK 18 historical adventure “Vikings”, the well-known feel-good crime series “Mord ist ihr Hobby” with Angela Lansbury is one of the highlights of the series among the Prime offers. The “Murder is her hobby” is even an edition produced exclusively for Amazon!

Two other completely different series highlights, which are offered at heavily discounted prices, are the extensively produced historical and crime series “Babylon Berlin” (22 euros instead of 37 euros) and “Avatar: The Lord of the Elements” as a complete box for less than 45 euros (instead of 60 euros).

With the “Prime Exclusive Offers” the name says it all – there is only a discount if you have a Prime subscription. If you don’t currently have it, you can sign up for a 30-day trial.
*
You can cancel the trial subscription at any time or automatically switch to a regular membership. Also don’t forget: prices are subject to change during the promotional period and products are only available on a limited basis. So if you see a promotion price that appeals to you, it is not certain that it will remain valid until the end of the promotion – and the end of the promotion is on October 12, 2022 at 11:59 PM!
