Bad surprise: “Avatar 3” comes a year later, “Avatar 4” and “Avatar 5” three years each!

The many fans of James Cameron’s blockbuster “Avatar – Aufbruch nach Pandora” had to wait 13 years for the sequel “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water”, which was repeatedly postponed. However, this did not detract from the success of the sequel: with a worldwide box office revenue of $ 2.3 billion, “Avatar 2” is the third highest-grossing film of all time (only behind the first “Avatar” and “Avengers : endgame”).

The anticipation for the three further sequels should have been stoked in many, but is now taking a huge damper as the franchise is once again plagued by postponements in the course of many date adjustments at the responsible studio Disney: The “avatar 3goes back an entire year to December 19, 2025. The American trade journals report this unanimously.

In the case of the next two parts, it looks even more extreme, as they are pushed back three years each: “avatar 4” now only starts on December 21, 2029, “avatar 5in US theaters on December 19, 2031 (the German dates are probably a day earlier, but have not yet been officially announced). Actually, the sci-fi sequels were scheduled for 2026 and 2028, now we won’t see the finale until the next decade.
