It’s finally clear when “Venom 3” will hit theaters: Marvel’s sequel declares war on one of the most anticipated DC movies

While Jared Leto’s debut as a Marvel vampire in “Morbius” failed to impress the box office or critics, Sony continues to work diligently to expand its own movie universe with characters from the “Spider-Man” cosmos (the so-called SSU , short for Sony’s Spider-Man Universe). Next in October 2023 is Kraven The Hunter starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. And in 2024, three SSU adventures will hit theaters.

In addition to the screen debut of the superhuman wrestler “El Muerto” (played by music superstar Bad Bunny) and the psychic and telepathic “Madame Web” (played by “Fifty Shades Of Grey” star Dakota Johnson), there’s also an old acquaintance here, it started the SSU successfully in the first place: Just like the trade magazine now reported incidentally is “Poison 3” of Tom Hardy scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2024 – and that could set us up for a thrilling comic duel…

Venom 3 vs Joker 2?

An exact date for the start of “Venom 3” has not yet been announced. The first two parts were released in the US in the first week of October and it is quite conceivable that this line will continue now, especially since “Venom 3” would then start exactly three years after part 2, which in turn was almost exactly. three years after the first part began.

However, Marvel competitor DC has already announced a new movie for the first week of October, one of the studio’s most anticipated films: “Joker 2: Folie a Deux“. While many are currently curious about what James Gunn is doing with the overhauled DCU (and especially the new Superman movie “Superman: Legacy”), there are at least as many curious as the sequel to “Joker” that was detached from it, the offbeat DC mega hit. with Joaquin Phoenix, who won an Oscar for it – especially since the second part should partly come as a musical (!) In which the relationship between Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) and his psychiatrist Harleen Quinzel (Lady Gaga), later known as Harley Quinn, should be the center of attention.

It remains to be seen if Sony is actually aiming for this duel with its Marvel adventure or if it will avoid “Joker 2” a bit and put “Venom 3” by the end of the month (But if “Joker 2” generates as much excitement and enthusiasm as its predecessor, even then “Venom 3” should still bring in a few viewers).
