But what do you drink on site and how much tip is appropriate? According to Düden, a tip is a (smaller) amount of money given to someone (beyond a price to pay) for a service rendered. Tip for service in 20 countries:

  1. Austria Hint: 5 to 10%
  2. Türkiye Hint: 10 to 20%
  3. Costa Rica Tip: about 50 cents for the hotel clerk
  4. Kenya Tip: 10 percent, but not for taxi drivers.
  5. Greece Hint: 10 to 15%
  6. Thailand 10% is usually already included in restaurants and bars.
  7. Argentina Tip: 10%
  8. Mexican Tip: 15% to 20% with very good service
  9. India Hint: Usually 10% is already included. Additional 5% to 10% should be calculated for fine dining.
  10. Italy Hint: indeterminate, service is usually included, but 10% for exceptional service.

  13. United States of America Tip: 15% to 20%, usually included in the bill. In the US, everyone gets tips: waiters, bellboys, hairdressers, and even taxi drivers.

  15. Croatia Hint: 5 to 10%
  16. Sweden: There is a tip at dinner, about 10%, and no at lunch.
  17. Denmark: Tipping is not typical, but it is a way of saying thank you.
  18. France: tip 15%
  19. Morocco: about 10% tip
  20. Australia: Unusual before now waiters are happy about 10%
