Each cinematic universe brings with it secret details, easter eggs and references that encourage film buffs around the world to explore. This not only affects the extensive Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also, for example, the series “Star Wars”. But that’s not all, because there are always surprises to be found in the “The Fast And The Furious” franchise.
For example, in ‘Fast & Furious 7’ you can expect an Easter Egg for which you do not need any film knowledge, but you do need a decent knowledge of sports or football. Because if you press pause at the action spectacle at 98 minutes and 57 seconds, you will see how Dwayne Johnson like Luke Hobbs in the hospital watching himself on TV!

How can that be? After Luke Hobbs took a beating from Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in “Fast 7”, he ends up in the hospital, where he then has to spend much of the film. Then, just before the final, we see Hobbs watching a football game on TV – while watching a competition that Dwayne Johsnon himself was a part of.
This is a game from 1993. Dwayne Johnson played for Miami Football from 1990 to 1994. The screen shows Miami’s loss to arch-rival Florida State in 1993. It’s the very play that Dwayne Johnson knocks down Florida State quarterback Charlie Ward before he can make a pass. This, by the way, is very valuable in football and is called a “sack”.
