“The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart”: that’s the story
Nine-year-old Alice (Alyla Browne) grows up in a remote cottage on the northeast coast of Australia. Time and time again, the girl seeks shelter from her father’s (Alexander England) violent outbursts in her mother’s (Tilda Cobham-Hervey) lovingly landscaped garden.
When a fire destroys her home and kills her parents, the little girl is taken in by her grandmother June (Sigourney Weaver), whom Alice didn’t even know until then. The determined elderly woman runs a flower farm, where she offers refuge to ill-fated fellow women.

Over the years, Alice (now Alycia Debnam-Carey) learns to use the language of flowers to say things she can’t put into words. But at some point she realizes that June is hiding something crucial from her. When the truth finally comes out, Alice must learn to let go of the past and find her own way…
