“How do you kindly tell someone they stink?”

Hello!

I’ve had the pleasure of sitting regularly for 8 hours for a few days in front of a person who doesn’t take personal hygiene very seriously, or who is a poor fiend and just sweats so unbelievably that not even the strongest deodorant can handle it.

But actually it’s more like it smells like old sweat. And also after all kinds of food. Sometimes I feel like it even smells like piss. Anyway, I didn’t want to go into too much detail. Anyway, the man stinks. Like I said, he does it just feet away from me.

Since we share an office for two, I can’t work with anyone else to have the awkward conversation. I also have no alternative. We are both self-employed and, as I said, we share the office.

So now my question: do you have any idea how I can somehow get that across so he isn’t offended? He’s not exactly known for taking criticism well or for taking it “chilled out”… Thanks for your help!
