Kemshotan Karate-Do Academy, forging values

Sports help create good citizens, and karate is proof of that Kemshotan Karate-Do Academy Panamaá aims to create discipline, create awareness, implement good values, self-respect, which is complemented by the study of infants and young people.

It was recently implemented National Children’s Karate Championship in Santiago de Veraguas from side Panama Karate Federation, where the national team of the province of Panama won the title, and in that main team Kemshotan Academy had four representatives, who won four gold medals and one bronze.

Einar Lopez A 10-year-old in the category up to 45 kilograms won gold in kumite, Marilu Munoz she climbed to the podium in individual katas in the category up to 12 years, and she also won first place in kumite for girls in the category up to 30 kg.

Yohan Sánchez won gold in the 50kg category in the 14-year-old category in kumite and also won bronze in kata.

Another person who stood out with his participation was ander lopez in the -70 kg category in the cadet category.

The Kemshotan Karate-Do Panama Academy of Don Bosco was founded in 1990 by a remembered teacher Carlos Perez and since 2019, Rodolfo Riguero, who has 23 years of experience teaching his students in different categories, runs the academy and they practice in the facilities Roberto Kelly Sports Complex, Tuesday and Thursday.

Sports, in this case karate it goes hand in hand with studying and the academy accepts students from the fourth year onwards.

There are adults who train karate for self-defense, some children and young people develop this discipline as a sport, something the academy welcomes, said the teacher. Riguero.

In the academy, young people and infants are required to be good at learning, that the energy and character they apply in karate also reach their studies, their discipline and behavior in order to have good citizens, said the teacher.

In these times, boys are very interested in technology (internet), social networks, and in karate we are looking for that to be our ally.

Riguero explains that he had to offer virtual classes, which tells his students to consult some instructors to improve their karate moves, all with the aim of creating discipline, awareness, responsibility and good values ​​in the students.
