Panama remains a pioneer in the regulation of games of chance

The gambling in Latin America to unanimously direct our efforts towards building a strengthened, transparent, regulated and socially responsible industry, said the Deputy Minister of Finance, Jorge Luis Almengor, at the closing ceremony VII Ibero-American Gaming Summit.

He added that this activity “brings us closer to regulators, operators and other members industrywhich makes us commit ourselves to the exchange of best practices, to the maintenance of the gaming sector in each of the participating countries”.

He repeated that “regulators see in Panama is an opportunity to be the centerthrough which new initiatives in the gaming industry are promoted and the best practices in the markets are used”.

Almengor emphasized that it is important to maintain close interaction between the various regulators, to ensure that all people in the gaming industry are sustainable over time and are provided Financial support through banking and various financial services in the region.

He made a point Deputy Minister of Finance from the Board for the Control of Games of Chance (JCJ) contributed $246,083,957.14 to the Panamanian treasury between 2019 and April 2023, the revenue of which the Government uses in social programs and infrastructure.
