Panamanians will compete in the Dominican triathlon

Panama is represented by eight athletes at the Central American and Caribbean triathlon championshipwhich takes place this weekend in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The triathletes who will perform in the junior category are:: Iker Batista, Oliver Batista, Facundo Gonzales, Moisés Benzion and Nathan Gayle.

While in the elite category, they will see action: Petter Vega, Armando Abaunza and Diego Lucero.

The competition will take place tomorrow, Saturday, and a total of 70 triathletes from countries like United States, Mexico, Canada, Cuba, Guatemala, Colombia, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Argentina, El Salvador and Chile among others.

The group has been training hard in recent months and many of them took part in the Ironman 70.3 from Panama, held on March 12.

For his part Peter Vega, was in Ironman from Lima, Peru, but mechanical problems with his bike did not allow him to finish, but he arrives Dominican Republic focused on competition.
