Ferrecal, a company specialized in plumbing and heating, buys Icoga in Vigo and opens in Carballo

The company Ferrecal from Compostela continues with its expansion plan in Galicia. With two operational centers in the Galician capital (its headquarters in the Tambre industrial zone and its retail store on Lugo Avenue) and offices in the industrial zones of A Grela (A Coruña) and O Ceao (Lugo), it acquired Comercial Esgon in mid-2021, giving it made it possible to settle in Pontevedra and Sanxenx. The general manager of Ferrecal, Juan Francisco Vázquez, explains that the acquisition of Icoga was formalized last December, with which Ferrecal is located in Sárdoma (Vigo) with a warehouse of 1,200 square meters and seven workers, thus increasing the number of employees to the seven sales points it has in Galicia .

Today, the company opens its own office in the Bértoa industrial estate, in Carballo, with 1,800 square meters and four employees. It also represents a return to the beginning of the company, since it also includes wholesale hardware products, as well as construction materials related to the bathroom.

Vázquez points out that the current year will be for the consolidation of the group, which with this extensive presence in the community is “positioned as a benchmark in terms of sales of plumbing installations and heating materials.” A family business focused on a professional client, distributor of Baxi and Roco, which competes with other large chains. Vázquez compares his company to the Santiago basketball team of which he is a sponsor: “We are Obradoiro fighting in the ACB.”

The company’s general manager gives figures on what the expansion he has led since 2019 has meant: “From that year to the end of 2022, the Ferrecal group has doubled its turnover.” In the absence of consolidation of figures, it reached around 30 million last year. The human team of the Ferrecal Group has 83 employees. Ourense is the only enclave waiting to complete the map of Galicia. Vázquez is clear that the company also needs to be there, but it won’t be this year. Before that, they will move their facilities in Lugo to a warehouse of 3,500 square meters in As Gándaras, which will enrich their offer with construction materials.
