The maritime and metallurgical sectors are the ones that weigh the most in the demand for professionals in the community, according to Adecco

Weight of the maritime and metallurgical sector in Galicia it is strongly felt in professional profiles that accumulate more demand in the community. And that is that, according to a study carried out by Adecco, one of the main human resources companies, boilermakers, electricians and mechanics are the three profiles that occupy the pedestal, along with others that are sought after in the same way throughout the country, regardless of the community.

The study emphasizes that, despite the unemployment rate, 13%, 53% of hiring managers have “problems” recruiting talent for his company, a percentage that increased by 18.3 percentage points compared to the previous year.

Chronic shortage of skilled workers

Adecco emphasizes this There are sectors that have been suffering from a “lack of qualified specialists” for years., such as IT and telecommunications profiles (demand exceeds new graduates), healthcare professionals (more than the pandemic) and technical profiles for industry. These “enjoy what is called full employment.”

In addition to demand at a general level, there are autonomies with their own characteristics in terms of the profile of qualified professionals they need. That is the case Galicia, where one of the most sought-after trades is that of a boilermaker, due to the importance of the maritime and metallurgical sectorsalthough the strong presence of the industrial sector also leads to the search for electricians or mechanics.

The same happens in The Basque Country, which is looking for industrial profiles for the railway, metallurgical and maritime sectors, with technological experts, as in the Valencian community. However, in Catalonia, human resources and digital marketing profiles are the most sought after.

On his part, in Madrid highlights the lack of employees in banking and insurance, as well as health and technology staff. Asturias requires telephone operators and university graduates for shared service centers, something that is a consequence of the growing presence of telephone operator exchanges and multinational companies that need these centers.
