María Jesús Montero predicts that the collection from these taxes will exceed 3,000 million euros per year
The tax administration charged 817.4 million with advance payment of temporary energy taxwhile the sum was obtained by tribute to of financial entities exceeded 637 million euros, which together represents 1,454 million euros for public coffers. “The results are very positive,” noted the Minister of Finance and Public Functions, María Jesús Montero, at the press conference after the Council of Ministers held this Tuesday.
Just yesterday, the deadline for the payment of advance taxes expired, which corresponds to half of what was planned for the whole year. Thus, financial and energy entities had to enter the result of multiplying the percentage of 50% to the calculated statement amount as an advance payment.
In light of these first data, the head of the Treasury predicts that will exceed 3,000 million per year – in 2023 and 2024 – initially estimated for the collection of these temporary taxes. The payment comes a few days after the State Court rejected the preventive suspension of the order of the Ministry of Finance that develops models for the declaration and advance payment of temporary taxes for energy companies and banks, which was requested by Repsol.
It should be remembered that final self-assessment of new taxes (with payment of the remaining 50%) will be presented from September 1 to 20 – with direct debit from 1 to 15 – in electronic form with forms 795 for temporary energy tax and 797 for temporary tax for credit institutions and credit institutions financiers.
