Panama wins medals in archery

Panamanian archers won five medals, one silver and four bronze, and set two national records during yesterday’s South American Archery Championship and World Ranking Championship in Brazil, top competitions, on the way to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The silver medal, the first for Panama in South America, was won by the women’s team consisting of Lineth Luo, Astrid Barría and Adriannis Caballero.

On the way to this historic achievement for Panamanian archery, they defeated Peru 216:194, and in the final they were defeated by Brazil, by a narrow score of 225:219.

Panama won bronze medals at the World Team Ranking Championships, which are being held simultaneously, over the women’s recurve teams of archers Emma Durán, Gisela Cowan and Miriam González.
