Top speed: This was the first time valid on a road course

The first competition of the National Acceleration Championship in 2024 was held in a modern environment that invites big dreams.

On that date, quarter mile drivers or drag racers competed in the 15 seconds or over, 14s, 13s, 12s, 11s, 10s and 9 seconds or under categories, on a new 402 meter long track with 500 meters of braking, designed to the highest safety standards.

In the 10-second category, Christopher Lyma-Young in a Ford Mustang GT, Luis Ugalde in a Honda Civic and Jonathan Camacho in a Ford Mustang GT took first, second and third respectively.

Also winning, but in the 11-second category, were Juan Carlos Jované in a Toyota Supra MK5, Gustavo de Nicolo in a Honda Civic and Francisco Erinna in his Subaru STI.

Honors in the 12-second category went to Abilio Castillo, Juan Castillo and Harold Gómez, all driving Honda Civics, taking first, second and third place on the podium, respectively.

José Jaén, in a Nissan Sentra B13, dominated the category by 13 seconds, accompanied Jesús Coronel in Isuzu DMAX and Álvaro Nie in Honda Civic. In the 14-second category, the winner was Eduardo Tejada, followed by Gabriel Igualá and Anthony Rivera, all in Honda Civic cars.

The 15-second category was won by José Alberte in a Volkswagen Jetta, followed by Víctor Ábrego in an Acura RSX and José Diez in a Ford F150.

During the day, motorcycling also tested speed, with Calos Sánchez winning the 600, accompanied by Santiago Espinoza and Alfonso Perdom; while in 1000 Víctor Domínguez, Robert Wen and Fran de León dominated.
