Tocumen Airport surpasses one in Japan in terms of punctuality

The accuracy index, which is periodically carried out by the consulting company Cirium, placed Tocumen Airport in first place as the most accurate in the category of medium-sized airports in the month of February 2024.

According to Cirium indicators, Tocumen reached a On-time departure rate 93.88%. pushing Japan’s Osaka International Airport into second place, which received 89.99%.

In third place is Brasilia International Airport in Brazil, with 88.89%.

For an airport, a flight is considered to depart on time within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

The general director of Tocumen, Raffoul Arab, pointed out that he is proud that Tocumen ranks first in terms of its efficiency and operational safety.

“This reflects the teamwork of our staff, controllers, airlines and ground support companies“, he explained.

Cirium is an independent consulting firm dedicated to real-time flight data analysis, gathering information from more than 600 real-time flight sources.

Data includes, among others, airlines, airports, global distribution systems, civil aviation authorities and air navigation service providers.

To ensure accuracy and proper presentation of data, Cirium has an independent advisory board made up of aviation industry experts.

This committee rigorously monitors the accuracy of the information presented by the company, ensuring an unbiased view of the sector.

Tocumen Airport handled 1,504,449 passengers during the month of February this year, 209,449 more than in February last year.
