The Chamber of Industry and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) considers that the path towards progress and modernization of our country fundamentally depends on the consolidation of a The rule of law robust, backed by timely and fair administration of justice.
“Without this foundation, any progress we make will be short-lived and insignificant,” CCIAP asserts.
The business union highlighted the progress achieved in The justice systemespecially in accountability processes against misuse of public funds.
According to CCIAP, many of these promotions are the result of appointments made by this administration in the Supreme Court of Justice. Appointments that have been proven by their performance and that have won the trust of the population.
“Although we still face significant challenges, changes are beginning to be noticed and that is important. Impunity is no longer guaranteed,” they point out.
They also pointed out that we are in a transcendental moment in our history, in which the institutionality of various instances of the state is being examined, and added that it is the responsibility of its officials to demonstrate their verticality and strict adherence Constitution of the Republic and its laws.
Likewise, as citizens, we must contribute to fostering a culture of transparency and improving the institutional integrity of our country. We are all obliged to respect the law, and those who violate it must bear the appropriate consequences, CCIAP points out.
“We live in a democratic system that is not limited to exercising our right to vote every five years. For a true democracy to work there must be a real one The rule of law that provides security to its citizens, as well as a dedicated citizenry that in all its roles – businessmen, workers, public servants, to name just a few – respects the law and is committed to values such as honesty and resilience,” adds the union.
They conclude that in order to move towards full development, each of us must contribute to the strengthening of our democratic model, one of the fundamental components of which, as we have already pointed out, is an accurate, transparent and impartial judicial system.
