The “Boxeo del Patio” cards are being drawn up for the new season, now in the newly started year of 2024, and the date for the first boxing function has already been set.
The first “Boxeo del Patio” card should take place this year in 2024, that is, on March 30, announced Rouss Laguna, the promoter of Laguna Premium Boxing.
According to the promoter, in the new season, Olympic (amateur) boxing will be given space, in order to give a chance to new Panamanian boxing prospects, future champions.
The promoter added that for the first card, it is planned to hold 22 fights for the beginning of the new season that is coming.
Out of 22 fights, 12 are scheduled for professional and 10 for amateur fights.
Laguna explained that an approach has already been made with Germán Rivera, President of the Olympic Boxing Federation of Panama (Fedebop), so that the “amateur” boxers will have their participation and exposure in the “Boxeo del Patio” card.
Also slated for the March 30 show will be national title shot prospect Jonathan Miniel. The bout could take place against either Juan Huertas or Orlando “Virus” Mosquera, according to Laguna’s promoter.
Let’s recall that Miniel just won his last quick fight against Colombian Luis Fabra, in the star fight of the last card, “Boxeo del Patio” organized by Laguna Premiun Boxing at the Pandeportes Fighting Center in Juan Díaz last December.
Laguna also announced that negotiations are underway to include Chorreran boxer “Ricardo “El Científico” ‘Núñez” on the March card.
