Johan Camargo: ‘It’s special to play at home’

Panama utility Johan Camargo started off on the right foot in his debut with Águilas Cibaeñas in the current season of the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (Lida).

The former Atlanta Braves MLB player returned to the Águilas team and made his debut against Leones Esíd, in his team’s 11-4 victory in the game held at Cibao Stadium on Saturday night.

The Panamanian drove in four runs in that game, picked up a shutout and went 3-for-4.

Camargo is playing his sixth season in Dominican baseball, and with the Águilas he was the champion in 2018, 2021, the year he also crowned the Caribbean Series.

“It’s always special to play at home with our fans, but the main thing is to keep fighting, we have to keep fighting,” Camargo told Dominican media.
