Eduardo Beckford defeated Colombia’s Jhonatan Arboleda for RSC in the third round of the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in Chile.
It was Panamanian Beckford’s revenge on Colombian Jhonatan Arboleda, who defeated him in the semifinals of the last Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador.
With this victory, Beckford secured at least a bronze medal.
In boxing, Atheyn Bylon (75 kg) and Eduardo Beckford (71 kg), two Panamanians reached the semifinals, both of them managed to reach the semifinals at the Pan American Games and ended 36 years without a medal in Panamanian boxing.
