Fraga and Rojas, to the 2023 Women’s Ironman World Championship

Triathletes Williana Rojas and Florencia Fragawill participate tomorrow, Saturday at Ironman 202 Women’s World Championship3, which will be held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, United States.

The best professional athletes and age groups from around the world will travel a total of 140.6 miles – 226.2 kilometers divided into 3.8 km of swimming, 180.2 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running, exerting the greatest physical and mental effort.

For the first time, Ironman is celebrating its own world Championship in two different locations. The men’s participation took place last September at Nice, France and this Saturday in Kona with women’s participation.

In both championships Panama is represented, and this Saturday Williana Rojas and Maria Fraga will carry the name of our country. Rojas from Venezuela and Fraga from Argentina, mothers, wives, professionals and women dedicated to sports, have been staying with their families in our country for years. Both athletes will compete in the 40 to 44 age category.

Williana Rojas belongs to the Trizen team of her coach and husband Ernesto Fernandez. Trizen is the current Latin American champion in the TriClub Ironman 70.3which was celebrated in our country last March. On February 25 Ironman 70.3 Panama Latin America TriClub Championship presented by Heineken 0.0, with the participation of more than 1000 athletes from approximately 30 cities around the world.

It must be remembered that Florencia Fraga climbed to the top of the podium in Uruguay in Punta del Este who came in third, won Ironman Panama and Puerto Rico.’
