Chicago complicates the Diamondbacks in the Major League

Cuban Yoan Moncada hit a home run and scored two runs in the Chicago White Sox’s 3-1 victory over the Diamondbacks yesterday, complicating the Arizona team’s plans for a wild-card berth in the National League.

Moncada, whose playing time has been limited by injuries this season, hit his fifth home run in September to match his best hit production in any month of the current MLB campaign.

The Cienfuegos native has hit 10 home runs overall, and with his production this Thursday, he has 13 runs and 11 RBIs in his last 21 games for the White Sox.

The Diamondbacks lost for the third time in their last six games and maintained a one and a half game lead over the Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins in the battle for the second wild card in the National League with three games left in the season.
