Police raid on construction company BAM

Last Friday, the fiod and prosecutors searched BAM International’s offices in Gouda.

According to the construction company, the judiciary is “conducting an investigation into possible irregularities” in several BAM International projects that have already been completed. BAM will not provide any further details on the investigation but says it will fully cooperate with the investigation.

In 2020, BAM announced that it wanted to stop international construction activities due to “a lack of positive prospects”. All ongoing projects have now been completed and delivered.

Koninklijke BAM International is the foreign subsidiary of the construction company BAM, which until recently carried out construction and infrastructure projects in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and North and Central America. In recent years it has built roads in Dubai, built airports in Tanzania, built an LNG terminal in Panama and a container terminal in Costa Rica, and supplied Unilever’s headquarters in Indonesia.

The raid on the stock exchange by the public prosecutor and Fiod at BAM caused a significant drop in prices. At the start, the BAM share lost more than 15 percent to 1.98 euros
