The absenteeism rate in Galicia exceeds the Spanish average by one point
Every day, an average of 80,817 Galicians are absent from work, of which 66,004 are on sick leave, and 14,813 are without a valid reason, according to data from Randstad Research which corresponds to the first quarter of 2023. The rate of absenteeism from work In the Community, it is 7.3%, which is one point higher than the national average (which increased by two tenths in the analyzed period) and is the second highest figure in all of Spain, surpassed only by the Basque Country.
Nationwide, a study by a human resources company shows that almost 1.3 million Spaniards miss work every day, although the percentage of those who do so without medical leave is higher than in Galicia: 23.1% compared to 18.3% in the community.
