The appointment was delayed due to controversy when his CEOE salary was announced

New presidency for Antonio Garamendi. A little more than half a year after being re-elected as four CEOs, the Basque entrepreneur was promoted this Monday to President of the Board of Directors Aenor Confía, the main company in the segment of certification, inspection and analysis within the new holding created under the ownership of the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) in which the certifier is framed.

Actually, This position comes late, as the company planned to promote its current vice president — a position he held for six years — in the board of directors, which he took over in mid-February, but coincided with the controversies that then arose after his salary (400,000 euros per year) and the regulation of his position in the employers’ association (on go from self-employed to salaried). Aenor postponed this appointment on the grounds that, despite being on the meeting’s agenda, some of the legal reports needed to implement it were missing and could not be ready by that date.
