CEOE approves end to presidential term limits this week

The employers established this limit in April 2014, with Juan Rosella in the presidency of the employers’ association.

The day after tomorrow, the General Assembly of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) will approve the end of the two-term limit for employers’ presidents. Last June, the CEOE Executive Board already approved this proposal, which had only one vote against and one abstention. It must now be ratified by the general assembly, the employer’s body that has the power to amend the statute.

In addition, at the general assembly on Wednesday, as is customary at such meetings of employers held once a year, other internal issues of the organization, such as the annual calculation, will be discussed. The organization’s current leader, Antonio Garamendi, is in his second and so far final term after being re-elected with more than 80 percent of support in the last election held on November 23.
