The Maritime Administration of Panama (AMP) issued an order to proceed with the construction of the new public pier of Puerto Armuelles in the province of Chiriquí.
The project, estimated at approximately 20 million, envisages the studies, designs, development, approval of plans and the construction of the new Puerto Armuelles fiscal pier, as well as the procurement of furniture, tools, equipment and materials necessary for the perfect operation of the office and pier.
In this sense, we implemented public act no. 2022-2-03-0-04-LV-009201 which is awarded consortium ASOBUZ, which consists of the Panamanian company Administración y Supervisión de Obras Civiles, SA and the Colombian company BUZCA Soluciones de Ingeniería, S,A. and the aforementioned contractual relationship was confirmed by the chief supervisor of the nation.

The construction of the new Puerto Armuelles International Fiscal Pier will benefit artisanal fishermen and also serve the ancillary maritime industry, passengers and tuna vessels. It will consist of a bridge that will connect the mainland with the first platform where artisan fishermen will be able to come and unload products.
In the same way, another bridge will be built, which goes from the platform of artisanal fishermen to the industrial passenger pier; It will be a floating dock where it will be possible to receive up to one hundred (100) passengers, boats up to forty-five (45) meters in the inner part of the dock, and boats for hunting tuna, shrimp and containers. served externally, depending on the draft and dimensions of the ship, this is the seed with which AMP contributes to economic growth in Puerto Armuelles.
The specification that selects the contractor requires that, for the construction phase, part of the labor force be residents of Puerto Armuelles or, otherwise, the district of Barú, in order to promote employment in the town.
In the operational phase, after the completion of construction, the direct beneficiaries will be the fishermen’s association, product traders and the tourist sector, who are the main beneficiaries of the terminal.
